Anula Maiberg of the Sixth Street Pilates New York is a well known character in the international Pilates community. She is unconventional, she is outspoken, she is inspirational.

Anula Maiberg is a Thinker.

And, on top of that, she is an outstanding instructor, passionate about teaching people how to get the best out of their bodies so that they live and move better. That resonates so well with the philosophy of Aspire Pilates where we do not sell “pilates for hot bodies”, we teach people tools and techniques to achieve their best body. So it is with great excitement that we welcome Anula Maiberg to Aspire Pilates The Hague in the last weekend of September 2017.

On Saturday September 30, 2017 Anula will be teaching a mat class at 10.00 followed by private sessions;

On Sunday October 1, 2017 at 10.00 -13.00 Anula will present her Be Normal With Your Core Workshop designed for Pilates instructors. Be prepared to learn and unlearn, review and reconsider your ideas of what Pilates is and how to teach it; in short— come with an open mind to myth bust your Pilates practice. This workshop is for Pilates instructors but if you are a student of Pilates and want to deepen your understanding of the method, come to attend.

The studio will offer free 30 min taster sessions on Pilates apparatus: Reformer, Chair and Trapeze table. These will be suitable to all ages and levels of ability: fit, unfit or  couch potatoes — everybody and every body will benefit. All are welcome to stop by the studio for a taster session, or a peek at what we do, consultations, demonstrations, special offers.

Aspire Pilates The Hague to Host International Pilates Trainer Ianthe Basson on May 6-7, 2016


Aspire Pilates in The Hague is hosting international Pilates trainer Ianthe Basson. We are excited to have Ianthe take over the studio on May 6 and May 7, 2016. I am sure you will enjoy her bubbly vivacious personality and her unique teaching style. Expect to work hard while having fun! Expect exciting classes. Ianthe will be available to teach private sessions and we shall have special group lessons . Please contact me for details and booking. 


Ianthe Basson studied Dance and Musical Theatre at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. In 2000, upon graduation she joined Richard Loring African Footprint Dance Company as a principal dancer. With the Company Ianthe toured America, France, China, Morocco, India as well as performed nationally in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Durban. During her time with the Dance Company Ianthe performed over 2,500 shows.


In 2004 Ianthe Basson completed her Pilates Comprehensive Teachers Training Course (Mat and Equipment), through Renee Watson Pilates Studio in Cape Town, South Africa (now named CME – Conscious Movement Education). She has been teaching Pilates since 2004 in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Toulouse, France.
Today she continues to teach from her own Pilates studio in Cape Town.  Even with over 12 years of teaching experience Ianthe continues to learn more every day.  “I don’t think we are ever too old or too experienced to learn new things.”




As a professional dancer who suffered from a permanent back injury, Ianthe’s love for movement inspires her teaching of Pilates to persons of all levels of capability. Pilates with Ianthe is a highly accessible and enjoyable experience.


Ianthe is qualified to teach Pre/Post Natal Pilates, Pilates with Accessories, Pilates for Seniors, Pilates for Neurological Conditions as well as Cardio Pilates. Ianthe Basson completed Advanced Education Pilates Certification Course through renowned BASI (Body Arts and Science International) in Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies and most recently the Pilates meets Lynotherapy Course through the Lyno Academy.
